1st Wychwood Scout Group - Banner

The 1st Wychwood Scout Group is a non-profit organisation that works with children aged 5- 18 years of age as Meerkats, Cubs, Scouts and then may continue in their scouting career as Rovers and Leaders.

As defined by Scout SA, scouting changes lives and helps children and young adults to reach their full potential. Leadership abilities, teamwork, self-motivation, commitment, perseverance, environmental and cultural awareness, and strong values are just a few of the life skills our members acquire whilst having fun and 'learning by doing'. Positive peer pressure and outdoor activities all contribute to individuals growing up with the belief that they can and are changing the world in order to leave it a better place than how they found it.

The work done is undertaken on a voluntary basis with the sustainability of the group self- funded, supported by parents and by fundraising activities. Our work as a scouting group involves working with children without discrimination on social, cultural, racial, gender or religious background of our members. The 1st Wychwood Scout Group is based in Gauteng and falls within the Eland District of Scouts South Africa.
